Among the calls that kept Andover police in recent weeks, according to the police log:
- A loose dog with painted toenails.
- Wastewater backing up into a basement.
- An opossum stuck in a trash can and a hawk stuck in a hockey net.
Over the two weeks covered in the log, Andover police made 70 speeding traffic stops. As Andover prepares to enforce the new, town-wide, 25 mph speed limit, there have been requests to include warnings and citations issued for speeding in the Andover News police log summary. In July, Andover News began including the speeding enforcement information in addition to the selected entries from each day’s police log.
