I am writing in response to your Readers’ Survey, showing Kevin Coffey leads the candidates for the upcoming Andover Select Board election.  I am one of those people who plans to vote for Kevin this year for the Select Board.

I met Kevin last year at a public town meeting, and struck up a conversation.  After that chance meeting, I began to run into him frequently at other public venues – Select Board meetings, Affordable Housing presentations, high school building updates, MBTA Zoning meetings, the library, events at the Robb Center and Cormier Youth Center.  My observations revealed a man who is personable, professional, and perceptive. The more often I saw him, the more I came to appreciate his deep interest in Andover and its future.

Kevin is comfortable engaging people with different points of view, and open to new information.  He is articulate and respectful, asks thoughtful, probing questions, carefully listens, and remembers what people have to say.  His comments reflect his distillation of information, and the reasoning he applies.  Kevin’s engineering and business backgrounds drive him to find responsible, rational, cost-effective solutions to problems.  These strong qualities will enhance Kevin’s ability to work effectively on the Andover Select Board.

I plan to vote for Kevin Coffey for Select Board on March 26th.  His abilities and knowledge will be an asset to Andover.  I encourage you to vote for him also.
