More than 100 scarecrows will hit the streets of downtown beginning Oct. 15 for Andover Coalition for Education’s 10th Annual Scarecrow Festival.

To mark the 10th anniversary, ACE is hosting a Scarecrow Family Fest at Old Town Hall on Main Street on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2-5 p.m., with refreshments and kids’ activities. The family event is sponsored by MKS Instruments, Pfizer, and Schneider Electric and underwritten by the Sebasky Family.

“This is our flagship event, and we have been focused on expanding our engagement with the community through this event this year,” ACE President Lauren Kushman said. “Our Scarecrow Family Fest will give families an opportunity to engage in hands-on kids activities and enjoy yummy fall treats.”

The scarecrows, which will be on display through October 29, are created by schools, community groups and sponsors. The Andover Bookshop will be distributing scavenger hunt forms for the “Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt” during the festival. The store will also offer prizes for participants.

ACE has already raised $49,000 for this year’s festival. All proceeds fund Andover Public Schools through Teaching Innovation Fund (TIF) grants. This year, ACE is funding a visiting authors series at all three Andover middle schools.
