Andover police assisted Massachusetts State Police in searching for a car theft suspect in the Belknap Estates Green Green Area between Belknap Drive and Paddock Lane early Saturday morning.
State Police had been involved in a chase for the car. Andover police dispatched three cruisers to the scene after State Police found the car parked on Belknap Drive off of South Main Street.
“We’re doing a K9 search for the suspect, who may be in the woods,” an officer on scene said. Lt. Edward Guy said Andover police had “minimal” involvement in the search and referred comment to State Police.
Andover News will update this story when State Police respond to a request for more information.
The car was towed from the scene shortly after 5 a.m.
