Some downtown properties will have their water service shut off between 10 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Thursday as part of ongoing, overnight water main replacement work in Elm Square.
The affected properties include #1-3 and #27 Main Street, #6 Essex Street, and #15-25 Central Street, according to an update from the Water Division.
Overnight construction to replace water mains on Main Street began earlier this month. Work is being done Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is expected to last about three weeks from the July 8 start date.
Emergency vehicles can still respond in the area, but other drivers may see detours and delays. Nearby residents and businesses may also have their water service turned off at various periods during the work.
