As a community member, I am looking for a candidate to build trust with all stakeholders by establishing credibility, strengthening relationships, and working collaboratively. We need people who are willing to listen, learn, and build on the relationships that are vital to the success of our schools and our community.  It is for those reasons I am supporting Shauna Murray for the School Committee.

I met Shauna Murray over 6 years ago as new elementary school parents. What struck me about Shauna, was her positivity and integrity. I have known Shauna to be honest and lead with humility. In everything that I have witnessed Shauna engage in, she has stood firmly with her principles and is more concerned with doing what is right rather than being right.

There is no doubt in my mind that in every decision that Shauna would make as a School Committee member, she will think about what is right for all students. Whether that is in the classroom or with her children she has demonstrated an ability to make hard decisions even when it will negatively impact her as an individual. She is guided by her strong sense of character and integrity. She believes in inclusivity and is open and willing to hear from everyone.

Shauna values the community of Andover and all the members that make Andover a wonderful place to live in. Shauna genuinely cares about people and her only agenda is to look for what is best for all that are involved. In every interaction I have seen her have with people, she treats them with respect and genuine kindness. The question she always asks individuals is what can she do to help. She would be the parent who would stay late and clean up after an event even though she had already helped with the set-up. You can find Shauna at a variety of Andover events with a smile and words of encouragement.

The community of Andover would be lucky to have someone with Shauna’s background on the Committee. Please join me in voting for her on March 26.
