Lauren Conoscenti will serve as the chair of the Andover School Committee following a unanimous vote Thursday. Conoscenti replaces Tracey Spruce, who did not run for reelection.
The unanimous vote was the first for newly-elected members Lauren Diffenbach and Shauna Murray, who topped three other candidates for two open seats in last Tuesday’s election. The committee also unanimously approved Sandis Wright to replace Conoscenti as vice chair.
Both Conoscenti and Wright will serve one-year terms. The school committee reorganizes in its first meeting following the annual town election.
Conoscenti, who ran unopposed for reelection last year, is in her second, three-year term on the school committee. She is the Assistant Head of School for Analytic Support and Assessment at Phillips Academy Andover, where she oversees data collection and analysis to support the academy’s strategic initiatives.
