Andover Fire & Rescue joined an effort to put out a massive wildfire at Breakheart Reservation in Saugus Tuesday.

Firefighters and the department’s Forestry-1 truck were on scene to battle the blaze, which is one of more than 100 wildfires in Massachusetts brought on by the ongoing drought in the state. The fire at the 600-acre reservation started just before sunset on Aug. 16 and was still smoldering as on Tuesday. On Sunday, a National Guard helicopter performed water drops.

The park, which has hiking trails, swimming and picking areas, remains closed through Wednesday. Officials have labeled the fire suspicious.
