Among the calls that kept Andover police busy this past week, according to the police log:

  • K9 search for a shooting suspect.
  • Two OUI arrests.
  • A caller whose mom was yelling at them.

Andover police made 37 speeding traffic stops between Sept. 29-Oct.5, down from 38 last week. As Andover begins enforcing the new, town-wide, 25 mph speed limit, Andover News will include the speeding enforcement information in addition to the selected entries from each day’s police log.

Thursday, Oct. 5, 8:29 pm: Elderly woman having phone issues, Crestwood Drive. “Officer assisted the female with putting the phone on the charger.”

Friday, Sept. 29

1:46 am: Mailbox broken into, Bulfinch Drive.
9:48 am: Road rage incident, South Mai Street.
11:02 am: Crash with injury, Haggetts Pond Road. “Critical incident.”
11:52 am: Crash with injury, Dascomb Rod.
3:02 pm: Employee receiving threats from client, Riverina Road.
8:32 pm: Well-being check on man in lobby of minuteman road hotel. Transferred to Lawrence General Hospital.
9:37 pm: Liquor check/violation, Park Street.

Saturday, Sept. 30

1 warning and 0 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
1:10 am: Arrested a 23-year-old Andover man for OUI-Liquor following a crash, Bartlet/Wheeler Streets.
10:59 am: Landlord/tenant issue, Farrwood Drive.
11:19 am: Man walking in road, North Street/River Road.
3:42 pm: Man can’t find his car, Chestnut/Whittier Streets.
7:02 pm: Caller says his mother is yelling at them, Joseph Street.

Sunday, Oct. 1

2 warnings and 2 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citation or warning in the log.
11:27 am: Crash with injury, Beacon Street/High Plain Road.
6:57 pm: Custody exchange, Lowell Street.
7:13 pm: Woman called 911 to report her car was towed from a private lot. “She was advised this was a private lot and the business may tow it,” Red Spring Road.
7:28 pm: Custody issue.

Monday, Oct. 2

3 warnings, 1 citation issued for speeding, and 1 speeding stop that was not designated as citation or warning in the log.
7:09 am: Money inside pink bag found on Main Street.
8:45 am: Trespassing, Shattuck Road.
2:23 pm: Dog running in traffic, North Main Street
2:46 pm: Theft, South Main Street.
3:36 pm: Vehicle vandalism, Minuteman Road.
9:47 pm: Arrested a 24-year-old Lawrence man for unlicensed operation, Bulfinch Drive/River Road.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

2 warnings, 0 citations issued for speeding, and 3 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
10:01 am: Well-being check on 62-year-old man who is not answering door for home nurse on Juliette Street. “Able to get in home, patient is alive, [conscious], and alert.
9:29 pm: Road rage incident, Bypass Road/South Main Street.
9:49 pm: Several people ran from car after crash on Cutler Road..

Wednesday, Oct. 4

2 warnings, 0 citations issued for speeding, and 2 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
9:58 am: Assisted removing unwanted guest from Shattuck Road apartment.
12:01 pm: Well-being check, River Road.
12:57 pm: Crash with injury, Bartlet/Morton Streets.
2:58 pm: Helped a turtle cross Greenwood Road.
6:59 pm: Canine “search for perp involved in a shooting,” Lowell Street.
8:30 pm: Woman backed into a car on Park Street. Arrested a 75-year-old woman for OUI-Liquor and leaving the scene of property damage.

Thursday, Oct. 5

13 warnings, 3 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
10:39 am: Employee reporting someone is posting vulgar things online using their name, Park Street.
11:37 am: Dead deer, Dascomb Road/Wabanaki Way.
2:02 pm: Suspicious activity.
3:11 pm: Report of past vehicle break-in, Burtt Road.
3:33 pm: Threats, Summer Street.
4:04 pm: Previous owner trying to put up a fence on property that is no longer his, Chandler Road.
6:02 pm: Person who appears to be homeless setting up a shelter on private property, Powder Mill Square.
8:29 pm: Elderly woman having phone issues, Crestwood Drive. “Officer assisted the female with putting the phone on the charger.”
