The Andover Department of Public Works is warning drivers of road closures, detours and delays for three projects scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Excavation for the Essex Street water main replacement will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning this week. Essex Street will be closed from Central Street to Brook Street, although drivers will be able to access Essex Street business (see map above).

Ongoing water main work will continue on Haverhill Street this week. This week’s work will run from York Street to Enmore Street, The work will also include some night work and water main shutdowns.

Also on Tuesday, final paving work will begin at 7 a.m. on Rutgers Road, Rindge Road, Hampton Lane and Sheffield Circle (see map below). All four roads will be closed for the duration of the work.

Emergency access vehicles will have access to all streets closed for paving and water main work. All work is weather dependent, and Tuesday’s forecast is calling for more rain.
