Get ready to hurry up and wait, commuters.

MassDOT is beginning a four-year project this spring to replace six bridges on Interstate 495 between Andover and Lawrence and is promising “temporary lane closures, ramp closures, and detours.”

The state’s transportation agency is hosting a pair of public meetings this month to outline the projects’ impact and the steps it’s taking to “help the project be a good neighbor:”

  • April 8, 6-8 p.m. at the South Lawrence East Elementary School at 165 Crawford Street in Lawrence.
  • April 23, 6-8 p.m. at the Robb Senior Center at 30 Whittier Court in Andover.
