An Andover man is facing up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in October after pleading guilty to federal drug distribution charges Tuesday.
Randell Starlin Medina Rodriguez, 27, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Boston to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and p-Fluorofentanyl, a fentanyl analogue.
The multi-agency Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested Medina Rodriguez and five others in February 2022. According to court documents, the defendants distributed hundreds of grams of fentanyl in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine beginning in mid-2021. The Massachusetts dealers moved large quantities of fentanyl to wholesale dealers who distributed them in the three states.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 5. In addition to a maximum sentence of 20 years, Medina Rodriguez could be fined up to $1 million.
