Among the calls that kept Andover police busy last week, according to the police log:

  • A cardboard box “creating a terrible smell.”
  • A student making threats.
  • Two arrests.

As Andover begins enforcing the new, town-wide, 25 mph speed limit, Andover News will include the speeding enforcement information in addition to the selected entries from each day’s police log. Police made 8 speeding stops between Nov. 21 and 27, down from 33 last week.

Call of the Week

Monday, Nov. 27, 5:31 am: Loud bang reported at Lowell Street apartment complex. Caller had previously reported to leasing office. Upstairs neighbor spoken to. “Unknown what the noise was, may have been an elderly person’s walker.”

Tuesday, Nov. 21

6:21 am: Caller harassing Main Street business by “constantly calling” and asking for specific store information.
9:59 am: Animal trapped in net, Elm Street.
11:12 am: Woman heard screaming in apartment, North Main Street. She had fallen in bathroom.
11:23 am: Stolen wallet, Federal Street.
11:39 am: Woman locked in bathroom, Florence Street.
12;48 pm: Arrested a 47-year-old Andover woman on South Main Street for OUI and resisting arrest.
1:04 pm: Online harassment, Hampton Lane.
5:56 pm: Crash with injuries, Dascomb/Frontage Road.
6:02 pm: Crash with injuries, Bypass.
9:04 pm: Well-being check, Taylor Cove Drive.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

No reported speeding stops.
11:57 am: Threats made by student, Shattuck Road.
1:25 pm: Crash with injury, North Main Street.
5:49 pm: Arrested a 61-year-old North Andover woman on charges of OUI, Marked Lanes Violation following a crash with no injuries on Main Street.

Thursday, Nov. 23

Saturday, Nov. 25

1 warning issued for speeding.
10:01 am: Report of past hit-and-run, Main Street.
3:07 pm: Caller wants well-being check on children as mother is not answering phone, Taylor Cove Drive. Spoke with residents and they are fine.
5:25 pm: Well-being check of caller’s mother, Woodland Road.
6:30 pm: Landlord/tenant dispute, Lupine Road.
7:57 pm: Client “is out of control and had a knife,” Tanglewood Way. “Spoke with all parties. Individual is going to be for the night.”

Sunday, Nov. 26
