Among the calls that kept Andover police busy this past week, according to the police log:

  • A search for Frankie the pug.
  • A loud birthday party.
  • A possibly drunk teen vomiting on a caller’s lawn.

Andover police made 10 speeding traffic stops between Aug. 30-Sept. 6, down from 32 last week. As Andover begins enforcing the new, town-wide, 25 mph speed limit, Andover News will include the speeding enforcement information in addition to the selected entries from each day’s police log.

Call of the Week

Thursday, Sept. 14, 9:54 am: Turtle playing on tennis courts, Shawsheen Road. “Turtle walking through grass.”

Wednesday, Sept. 13

0 warnings and 0 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
7:45 am: Crash with injury, Lowell Street.
11:26 am: Sick coyote, Elm Street.
1:42 pm: Property stolen from Pasho Street yard.

Thursday, Sept. 14

0 warnings and 4 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
12:11 pm: Man using vacant condo, Francis Drive. “There is no answer and a smell coming from the house.” No one in the apartment, and it appears as if no one has been there in a while.
2:59 pm: Woman harassing caller in his Launching Road yard.
3:58 pm: Hit-and-run crash, minor damage and no injuries, River Road
8:48 pm: Two cars racing up Route 125 towards North Andover, Bypass Road/Salem Street.
11:49 pm: Car sitting by mailbox on Somerset Drive. Car fled when police arrived. Officer stopped pursuit when car went into New Hampshire. Massachusetts State, Methuen and New Hampshire State Police notified.

Friday, Sept. 15

0 warnings and 0 citations issued for speeding, and 3 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
2:33 pm: Assisted Methuen Police in trying to locate a man at Doubletree hotel who had made suicide threats, River Road.
10:42 am: Report of road rage incident on Thursday, Lovejoy/Talbot Roads.
11:39 pm: Meals On Wheels requesting well-being check for elderly woman, Lovejoy Road.
3:52 pm: School bus stuck on West Parish Road for something on street.
4:21 pm: Man trying to follow people into Campanelli Drive hotel.
10:49 pm: Loud music, Brookside Drive.

Saturday, Sept. 16

0 warnings and 0 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
5:02 am: Windows smashed, tires slashed, Minuteman Road.
9:31 am: Train hit car, one injured, Pearson/Railroad Streets.
12:34 pm: Possibly drunk teens in a gray Toyota Camry, Taylor Cover Drive. One of the kids vomited on caller’s lawn.
3:19 pm: Car driving on the wrong side of River Road.
11:04 pm: Spark Fitness has garage doors open and is blasting music, Lowell Street.

Sunday, Sept. 17

0 warnings and 1 citation issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
7:35 am: Excessive leaf blower noise, Apache Avenue.
4:48 pm: Loud boom reported on River Street. Nothing found.
5:50 pm: Loud birthday party, Greenwood Road.

Monday, Sept. 18

1 warning, 0 citations issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
12:07 am: Multiple calls about loud music, Dascomb Road.
1:44 am: Workers at Main Street business report possibly drunk woman laying on floor. Taken home.
5:11 am: Assist State Police closing Interstate 93 for crash.
5:08 pm: Harassment, Dale Street.

Tuesday, Sept. 19

0 warnings, 1 citation issued for speeding, and 0 speeding stops that were not designated as citations or warnings in the log.
9:50 am: Woman got lost while trying to get to Maaco, Locke and Main Street. Assisted party to Maaco.
10:42 am:Stolen vehicle out of Lawrence recovered, Haverhill Street/Riverina Road.
10:52 am: Someone drove through property and damaged fences last night, North Street.
12:31 pm: Frankie the Pug took off, dog located by owner, Cuba Street.
1:01 pm: Injured coyote, Abbot Street.
1:26 pm: Raccoon issue, Lowell Street.
2:20 pm: Crash with injuries, Elm Street/Summer Street.
3:13 pm: Student walked away from school, Shattuck Road.
3:15 pm: Threats, Farrwood Drive
6:47 pm: Possible threats, River Road.
