Neighbors will have a chance to voice concerns Wednesday about blasting for construction of Weeping Willow Estates, a nine-home subdivision across from the West Andover Fire Station.

The Andover Planning Board approved the subdivision plan and granted a special permit for Greenwood-Andover LLC, the developer. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Andover Public Safety Center at39 Main Street. Seaver Construction, the builder, will outline state and local blasting regulations, how property owners can file blast damage complaints, and insurance considerations for homeowners, among other topics.

Most home insurance policies include “earth movement” clauses allowing them to deny coverage for blasting damage to homes. Damage can include foundation, drywall, swimming pool, flooring and driveway cracks,

If you live near the Weeping Willow Estates, you should take a video survey your home showing there were no cracks or damage in your home before blasting begins. You’ll want to shoot video every day blasting is happening. Under the special permit, the construction company cannot blast on weekends or holidays.
