It was just another Friday night on Brookside Drive until Andover police officer Alex King showed up in his cruiser.

King found a group of kids playing on the street and gave them a tour of the police car, turning on the lights. He talked about growing up in Andover and found out some of the kids had the same teachers he had when he was a student at West and High Plains Elementary Schools. He answered questions about the police academy and pepper spray.

“This is awesome — so cool!” one of the kids said. “I’ve never met a police officer before!”
